Meet Rebecca Dabney
I am the owner of Shield Maiden K9 LLC and creator of the Get A Grip K9 Academy.
I started my training career training horses with my mom at a young age. I became a police officer for the South San Francisco Police Department in 2007 and joined their K9 Unit in 2010. I was partnered with a Belgian Malinois named Ares. Ares and I were both "green" so we learned together. He had a long and successful career as a dual-purpose K9 and I went on to contract as a K9 Trainer for surrounding agencies.
In 2020, I took an early retirement from Law Enforcement as a Corporal and moved to Florida where I began working and training Personal Protection Dogs, Law Enforcement and Military Canines and got into Protection Sport Association with my personal dogs, Willow and Sage.
I trained my dog Willow from puppyhood to his first leg of PSA 1 (as of this writing). We earn very high scores in obedience and I wanted to share how I achieved that level of obedience with you!
My training methodologies are a little different. I break down the obedience routines into very small pieces and show you how to master those individual pieces.
You will have new focuses each month that build on themselves. Whether you are a beginner or are needing a little clean up to your obedience routine, this will help you reach your high score goals!
